Accommodation

The NZMBA Conference and 30th Anniversary Celebrations will be hosted at the prestigious St Andrew's College (or STAC for short), located at 347 Papanui Road in Christchurch. STAC is situated on 13 hectares in the heart of Merivale, a suburb only five minutes by car or bus from central Christchurch, and is located less than 10 km's from Christchurch Airport.

STAC has facilities for both day and boarding students from pre-school to Year 13, with approximately 1,350 students. STAC is the only independent co-educational school in the South Island.

The Conference will be utilising the STAC's facilities including the boarding hostel to provide accommodation for our attendees. The boarding facility offers shared room facilities: double, triple or quad. Feel free to give us your room type/buddy preference when you complete registration.

Travel Options

There are a number of ways to get to Christchurch. That's the benefits of Conference being in the second largest city in NZ!

THROUGH THE AIR:

Leave those broomsticks, super-hero capes and magic carpets at home and take a seat as there are three main airlines that land at Christchurch Domestic Airport. They are:

Pacific Blue (www.pacificblue.co.nz)

Airport transfers to STAC will be arranged closer to the time of Conference.

CROSSING THE SEA:

To head across the calm (?!) waters of the Cook Straight, you'll need to catch a ferry from Wellington to Picton:

It will take you approximately 4 hours to drive direct from Picton to Christchurch via State Highway 1 down the east coast of the South Island. But we recommend you take your time and enjoy the stunning scenery, especially the seal colony at Kaikoura and rolling Canterbury Plains.

There are a number of rental car agencies with depots in central Christchurch and from the aiport such as Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar, Apex, About NZ Rentals...

NOW THAT DATES ARE CONFIRMED FOR THE 8TH, 9TH AND 10TH OF OCTOBER THERE'S NO EXCUSE FOR NOT BOOKING YOUR TRAVEL EARLY. AS CONFERENCE IS THE LAST WEEKEND OF THE SCHOOL HOLIDAY BREAK WE RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS SOONER RATHER THAN LATER TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!
